(NEW LEXINGTON, OHIO) – Calling all kids (and kids at heart) in Perry County! Grab your friends, your family, your neighbors, and get ready to celebrate the end of a fantastic school year at the first ever “Chalk It Up to Summer” event, created by EHFAR, a local 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting youth in Perry County.

Location: Main Street, New Lexington (Courthouse to NAPA)
Cost: FREE for all
This FREE family event is generously sponsored by The Perry County Community Club, Ludowici Roof Tile, and The Panther Drive In, and promises an evening full of color, creativity, and community fun.
On May 29 from 6–8 PM, Main Street in New Lexington — from the Courthouse to NAPA — will be closed to traffic and transformed into a giant outdoor canvas. Participants will be assigned a section of sidewalk to decorate with chalk, with prizes awarded for standout creations. All chalk and supplies will be provided; all we need is YOU.
Decorating spaces will be assigned first come, first served, so families are encouraged to arrive early. All families and students in Perry County are invited!
In addition to sidewalk art, families can enjoy:
• FREE kids’ meals at Trotters with the purchase of an adult meal
• Live music to keep the energy high
• Kona Ice on site
• Ice cream freebies from The Panther Drive In
• Games, activities, and surprises throughout the evening
This event is designed to bring families together, celebrate the start of summer, and highlight the creativity of local youth.
All local agencies, businesses, clubs, or community groups interested in engaging with families are invited to set up a FREE display or activity table. This is a great opportunity to connect with the youth of Perry County in a fun, positive environment.
